The Process

A TRADITIONAL CRAFT

Dulce de leche is made by slowly cooking milk, cream, and sugar with a bit of baking soda, over the course of many hours, reaching something called “The Maillard Reaction:” a chemical reaction between amino acids and reducing sugars, that makes them caramelize and attain a distinctive nutty, malty, rich and complex flavor.

THE RITUAL

A WAY OF LIVING

When we think of moments from our childhood growing up in Argentina, we nostalgically remember a certain meal in the afternoon called "La Merienda". People of all ages gather around a table for conversation and connection, a time of much-needed leisure and enjoyment after a long day of work or school. We eat baked goods with dulce de leche and swap stories while waiting for the sunset.

The LEGEND

LA DIFUNTA CORREA

The name Folk Saints is inspired by the magical realism of Latin America, it honors and celebrates stories of magic, miracles, and folklore.
